Life Legacy
Rhonda L. Hitchcock, 46, was born on February 26, 1963 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital. She passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at her home unexpectedly due to an accident. She was a life long resident of Davenport Center.
She was a loving, caring, kind, friendly person to whoever knew her. She had loved her family very much. Her family and friends meant everything to her. Her children and grandson meant the world to her. She would have done anything and everything for them. Her grandson, Zachariah meant the world to her in every way. She loved having him around whether it was at home or at her shop. Zachariah was her pride and joy.
Rhonda had been a hairdresser for about 28 years. She was the owner and operator of the shop, Country Cutters.
Rhonda was a 1982 graduate of South Kortright Central School. She had also attended BOCES in Grand Gorge.
She enjoyed shopping, sewing, scrapbooking and attending the many sports activities at the area schools especially the basketball games. She also crotched blankets for all 15 nieces and nephews along with many many others.
Rhonda is survived by her two children, Savannah Jones and Brandon Jones and Fiance, Alica Murphy; one grandson, Zachariah Robert (Little Man) Jones; a long time companion, Fred Headman. She is also survived by her parents, Ernest and Norma (Briggs) Hitchcock; three sisters, Deborah (Ronald) Smith, Marsha Austin and Kelly (Seth) Gano; two brothers, Mark (Judy) Hitchcock and Scott (Amy) Hitchcock; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends and her clientele who were a part of her family; and a special friend who was like a sister, Mary Utter. She was predeceased by her grandparents; special sister-in-law, Linda Utter; brother-in-law, Graig Austin; aunt, Helen Briggs and uncle, Joe Kosier.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 7:00 PM in the South Kortright Central School.
